I first became interested in this subject when I stumbled across Daniele Tamagni’s
photography, which documents the style and settings of this unique Congolese
fashion. What particularly fascinates me about this group is that they go
completely against the style associated with African dress, and yet have made
this foreign clothing so completely their own. I am interested to find out the
context of this fashion in order to understand the psychology behind this non
conformity.
